Dr Ming Zhang

Dr Ming Zhang is a Research Associate at the School of Chemical Engineering, UNSW Sydney. His research focuses on the innovative design of MOF-based electrocatalysts for CO2 reduction and nitrate reduction to ammonia, pivotal reactions in addressing global environmental and energy challenges. By engineering the interaction between bimetallic atomic sites, his work aims to enhance catalytic activity, efficiency, and product selectivity. Through in-depth investigations into structure–performance relationships, he reveals how reaction pathways are tuned by atomic configurations, offering insights for optimising these processes toward industrial-scale applications. He is currently exploring circular NOx-to-NH3 pathways and their industrial relevance to decarbonisation.
