Thomas Maschmeyer is Professor of Chemistry at the University of Sydney, Founder of the London-listed Gelion plc, an energy storage company, and co-founder of the biomass and mixed plastic waste upcycler Licella Holdings. He is Fellow of three Academies, Officer of the Order of Australia and has received numerous prizes and awards, including the ‘Australian Prime Minister’s Prize for Innovation’, two Eureka Prizes and the Australian Academy of Science’s David Craig Medal, its highest award in chemistry. He has key roles in the ARC Centre of Excellence for Carbon Science and Innovation and the Cooperative Research Centre for Solving Plastic Waste.
